Book Announcement
My debut collection to be published this summer by Ink & Ribbon
I’m excited to announce that Ink & Ribbon Press will publish my first poetry collection, Sesquipedalian Rain Chant, this summer.
Ink & Ribbon is just getting started, and they have an exciting, intentional approach. They are nonprofit focused on creating a sustainable model to promote community and the work of poets. They are focusing on high-quality printing and design: “We believe that to publish a poem beautifully is to honor it — not as nostalgia, but as an act of cultural stewardship and faith in language itself.” There will only be 250 hand-numbered copies of each book. The founder, G.K. Allum, has been sharing some details with me, and it’s going to look good. (Check out an example.)
I couldn’t have imagined a better press for my first book. They are in Bainbridge, WA, ideal for my poetry, since so much of it about my experience of beauty in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
And the editorial ethos has been spectacular. G.K. has been amazing to work with. We’ve been going back and forth on the manuscript, and, as a poet himself, he’s helped the poems get definitively better.
I am genuinely excited to be part of their vision. Being chosen for their inaugural publication is a great honor.
Pre-orders go on sale February 15. The book launches June 15.

This is very exciting !!
